BIOENGINEERING & REGENERATIVE MEDICINE (ICBR-2020)
The Indo-US Conference on Bioengineering and Regenerative Medicine (ICBR- 2020), hosted by School of Biochemical Engineering, IIT (BHU), Varanasi, India in collaboration with Florida International University (FIU), Miami, Florida, USA and supported by Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Department of Science & Technology (DST) and Scheme for Promotion of Academic and Research Collaboration (SPARC) will provide an extensive platform for scientists, researchers and scholars to showcase their research results and latest findings in all fields of Biotechnology and Biomedical Engineering and help tackle the practical challenges encountered and recommend better solutions for human health. The conference also aims at making knowledge transfer easier by establishing the research fraternity and thereby improving the quality of research. The conference will have plenary sessions, which will include keynote lectures, invited talks, oral presentations, and poster presentations.
INDIAN INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY (BHU) VARANASI
Indian Institute of Technology (BHU) Varanasi is a premier engineering institution established in 1919 at Banaras Hindu University and is more than 100 years old. Located in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India, it was earlier known as BENCO. The engineering institution was later converted to Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in 2012 through an Act of Parliament. Among engineering colleges, IIT (BHU) Varanasi was ranked 11 by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) in 2019 and 39 overall. The School of Biochemical Engineering was established in 1986 with a regular intake of M.Tech (2yr) and Ph.D. Students. Later the school also started admitting IDD M.Tech (5yr), students. The school works in the following areas of Biochemical Engineering: Tissue Engineering, Biomolecular Engineering, Biofuels, Protein Engineering, Fermentation Technology, Enzyme Engineering, Cellular Biochemistry and Wastewater Engineering. The school aims to be a world-class center for excellence in Biochemical Engineering and Biotechnology solving highly technical problems, and focusing on development of bioproducts and bioprocesses.

The Department of Biomedical Engineering is changing people’s lives through translational research. Research conducted within the department is clustered into three major areas: Basic Research in Tissue Engineering Model Systems, Diagnostic Bio-Imaging, Sensor Systems, and Therapeutic and Reparative Neurotechnology.
